September 2015 - Redkoh Supplies Purpose Designed Electrode to US Power Plant
Redkoh along with its Electrode principal, GEECOM, from South Africa have designed and supplied a novel electrode for use at a major US power plant. The electrode is a spiral wire, but rather than a round cross section the electrode has a square cross section. Added to this, the ends of the electrodes have purpose designed shrouds that allow them to pass by the plate stiffeners and straighteners without creating a clearance problem.
The electrode is performing well with higher voltages, due to better clearances, and currents are up due to both the additional voltage and the novel cross section of the electrode
